GERMANY, JUNE-JULY, 1997 - BOOK 1/PAGE 10
After the enjoyable tour of the Heidelberg Castle we go down to the river level town to look around. They have many squares there and Jeanne and I get our photograph taken at a spot with the Castle in the background.
Heidelberg has lots of tourists this time of year (July) and we find a beautiful church with a outdoor restaurant in front of it.
Shortly after leaving the square with the church we discover a huge band marching into another square. They are playing lots of songs that many of the tourists would know.
When the band is done we wander around the various streets and find, of all things, three men, apparently asian, playing music in hopes of get donations.
The Castle is on one side of the river, the same side we are on, as is the bridge gate house with it towers.
Fortunately for us, there is a free cable car that takes you up to the Castle and back down. This is great as we parked the car near the Castle.
