JEANNE AND I - BOOK 2, PAGE 8

Chimney Rock has been a really nice stop on our trip. The view from the top is excellent as we were there are a fairly clear day.

We leave Chimney Rock heading north to the Smokey Mountains. Coming around a curve we see lots of cars parked by the side of the road so we stop as this is unusual to say the least. What luck! We get there just as park rangers are bringing up to the road side a good size black bear.

This particular bear, as the ranger kindly explains to the spectators, has been "bad" and annoying visitors. So they darted it to put it to sleep so they can move the bear to another part of the park. Only one more thing to do - get the bear's cub to go along for the ride.

One more good photograph of the "sleeping bear" and we are on our way home.

Later on, which I am not sure is on this trip, we go to Cumberland Falls to meet Larry, Janet and Arron for a short campout.

Cumberland Falls State Park is really a nice place to visit. A good campground and great scenery. The falls trails are easy to hike and give the visitor excellent views of the falls from afar.

Jeanne and Arron spend a bit of time just looking at the views around the side of the road. We finally have to leave and someplace along our route back to Columbus is the really pretty waterfall.
