While at Cumberland Falls we find a nice spot near the river to have lunch. Before we leave to head back to Columbus we find one more place to get a great photograph of the falls.
Later on we drive our camper to Bay City, Michigan, to visit my brother Jim, his wife Jan, and their son, Darren. Then, over the Thanksgiving Holiday, Jeanne, Chris, and I hope in the camper and drive down to Mamouth Cave. When we get there we find that even though it is a holiday there are very few people around. So it is no problem finding a campsite and taking the tour of the cave. The photograph on the right shows the long steep stairs down to the main cave.
November is cold here and there had been either rain or snow as we see the icecycles on the cliffs. To exit from the cave there is a really high staircase you have to climb so it is no place for those not fit to climb up at least five stories.
Back at the campground Jeanne finds a "hungry friend". This chipmunk is definitely not afraid of humans. Probably due to the fact that others have fed him/her food. But Jeanne just cannot resist feeding the cute little guy.
This "guy" will climb right up your body to get some food.
Another Christmas, this one is 1984
Apparently 1985 was not our year for taking photographs as this is the Christmas of 1985.
Then we are back at Snowmass for another week of skiing. Snowmass has to be the best place in the world for skiing especially in the end of January when we go there. The condo rates are cheaper, fewer people go there as they think the weather will be too cold and snowy. But we find the weather is just great, only in the teens and twentys and usually sunny days. The skiing conditions are perfect.
