JEANNE AND I - BOOK 3, PAGE 10

Aspen is a great town to visit and ski from. There are many, many hotels and condos near the lifts. You can catch a bus to Snowmass all over town. The main run you can see from the town if Little Neil, which has a very steep decent back to the town.

The heart of Aspen is the downtown area that has a "people walkway". Each side is lined with shops, many of them catering to the rich as Aspen is a "playground" for them. But ordinary people mix with the famous all the time.

Stores feature the lastest in ski equipment as well a high price ski clothes. On the right is the favoriate ski area for beginners in Aspen, Buttermilk. I took Jeanne here one time I believe and she didn't like it - too easy - no steep hills or runs.

Another view of Little Neil while on the right is one of the many really expensive homes on the slopes, some of which are like this one, a run right outside the door.

On the left is the "bunny hill" at Snowmass, a great place for kids and beginners to get their "ski legs". On the left is a nice run - defined a long, wide, fairly steep, good snow cover, and a fantastic view to boot!

There are many great runs at both Buttermilk and Snowmass that it is sometimes hard to tell them apart. But, generally, Snowmass has the longest runs with the best views. The chairlift on the right appears to be a Buttermilk.
