Sam gets his daily walk and this time he really enjoys it as the trail we take leads down to a small stream. Then it is on to Mt. Rainier, a most impressive mountain.

There are quite a few falls along the trails but the small lake where a reflection can be seen is the sight to be seen.
The place to see in Oregan is Mount Saint Helens, which blew on May 18, 1980, 11 years ago. these next five photographs were taken at the time of eruption.
The dead trees above are but one of the many signs of the disaster we see. Spirit Lake is about 1/3 full of dead trees that were blown into it or came to rest there after the mud slide. All the trees in the area are laying on the ground pointing in the direction that the wind generated from the blast went.
