A YEAR ON THE ROAD IN OUR MOTORHOME
BOOK 3/PAGE 3
From Seattle we dove down the coast to the Olympic National Park where we talked to a ranger about camping. He told us that there were primitive campgrounds along the coast that were free. So, we headed there, passing by this nice waterfall on the way and found a perfect site on the shoreline.
June, 1991 to June, 1992
The view from the beach, which is down a small drop off, is great, one of the best we have had so far on the trip. It is fun to walk along the shore and find the tidal pools full of sea life such as the starfish clinging to the sides of the pools.
Down the coast on the park is Beach 6, Ruby Beach. Just fantastic scenery there.
Continuing on down the coast we find Rialto Beach where the 3/4 mile trial ending at the beach with a long wooden staircase down to the beach. We have no idea how the huge logs got there.
Rialto Beach is great scenery so we are there several hours.
The tidal pools generally have sea urchins in them. After stopping at other campgrounds for a few days to do laundry, we get to Mount Olympus area where Jeanne runs in to deers on the trail.
