A YEAR ON THE ROAD IN OUR MOTORHOME
June, 1991 to June, 1992

BOOK 3/PAGE 6

It is now October 4, 2001 and we are in the state of Washington which has some of the most beautiful coast lines we have ever seen. The waves always are breaking over the rocks on the shore. We find a great campsite with water and electric at the Beverly Beach State Park for $11/night.

The setting sun over the Pacific Ocean is just great. We do have time to see the sights near by like the Devil's Punch bowl, a unique formation caused by the erosion of the land by the sea, which is by Cape Foulweather. The bowl is huge, probably 30-50 feet across. The water rushing in and out almost trance fixes those who watch.

Sam really is not fond of the ocean with the waves breaking on the beach but a walk on the dunes, well that is entirely another matter. Seals are all around the Cape Foulweather area.

Tidal pools are always of interest, so many creatures there, like the sea urchins on the right. These photographs were taken at Yaquina Bay.

Sunset at Yaquina Bay is exciting and the beaches in the area are, again, great to visit.

Some of the tide pools are rather large and contain hundreds of pool animals. The lighthouse at Yaquina Bay is impressive on the point of land.
