A YEAR ON THE ROAD IN OUR MOTORHOME
June, 1991 to June, 1992

BOOK 3/PAGE 8

Leaving Crater Lake, we head back to the coast where, at one point along it, we find this rocky island that is a home to many seals. The entire coast here is just beautiful - so many things to see in so many places. One of the more unusal offshore formations is Face Rock.

Almost every turnout or viewing area has something of interest, like the waves splashing up against the rocks. A famous turnout area is the Arch Rock.

We can hardly believe the views we are finding. Each one is almost better than the last one. The Natural Bridge is one that Jeanne would have loved to walk on but there is no path to it. Thank goodness as I probably would have had to go along and heights are not "my thing".

Perhaps one of the better campgrounds we stay in is Harris Beach State Park. The coastline is just as great as the others we have seen along the road. find another great scenic spot along the highway. Steller Jays are quite common in this area and several hang around the campground, ready for a free meal from the campers.

We are getting closer to the campground were we will spends quite a bit of time. But before we get there we see one more coastline. Then we settle in to the Benbow RV & Golf Resort where we play golf and wait for Sherrie's package that contains our new license plates (Ohio) to arrive.

Route 101 leads to the Redwood Forrest and the Avenue of Giants. It is unbelievable the size of the trees.
