Page 1 | The beginning - Hamburg, Germany. A bus tour of the city is the best way to see the sights. |
Page 2 | More Hamburg sites. Then Hardy and Sally take Jeanne and I on a motor tour through central German which begins at the World famous Residenz in Würzburg, south of Hamburg. |
Page 3 | We walk from the Residenz across the river and up the hill to the Fortress of Marienberg where the Prince-Bishops used to live prior to 1720s. |
Page 4 | We leave Würzburg and head towards Rothenburg which has a famous walled city. But before we tour the city we stop for the night at Creglingen and stay in a guest house which all towns throughout Germany seem to have. |
Page 5 | After checking out of the guest house in Creglingen we drove to Weikersheim to another castle. Like all the castles in Germany that made it to today, this one was ornate and must have cost a huge fortune to build. |
Page 6 | The Gem of the Middle Ages - ROTHENBURG. A walled city that dates back to 970 with the major construction done during the period 1200-1400. |
Page 7 | Neuenstein and Langenbury Castles. The 1st is a private home and the 2nd was closed when we arrived there late in the day. |
Page 8 | After a long day visiting castles we stop at a very nice guest house not far from Heidelberg. The next day we arrive at one of the prettiest towns in Germany. It sits on both sides of the Neckar River and one main feature is the Karl Tehodor Bridge and gate house. |

Page 10 | We take the free cable car down to the river level Heidelberg and spend some time sightseeing. |
