NOTE: Being the author of this online scrapbook I naturally had quite a bit of material from my life and more details that the sections on my parents and brothers.

This is from various scrap books and loose photographs that I put together during my life. Unfortunately, my high school scrapbook disappeared when I was discharged from the Army in 1956, never to be seen again.

It contained mainly newspaper clipping of my sports exploits in high school. There are, however, two photographs of my in high school sports, one posed and the other a basketball action photograph. I am also including some college year book photos of my fraternity, Sigma Nu, which both Tom and I belonged to. Jim would have joined but he had to enlist in the Air Force during the Korea War.

Jeanne and I have taken over 2,000 photographs since our marriage on March 28, 1979 in Columbus, Ohio. These include many trips we took before I retired from the Columbia Gas System July 1, 1991 and quite a few of our photographs we took, after I retired in 1991, on our year long trip in our motor home through the western United States, Canada and Alaska.

Jeanne is my third wife as I divorced my first two wifes, Barbara and Mary Ann. I have a son by Mary Ann, Christopher Mark, who resides in Tallahassee, Florida, with his wife, Libby Harper Thomson and their two sons, William and Michael.

My middle name is "McCullough" and you can read about where this name came from in the book "A Narritive of the Captivity of John McCullough ESQ / Writen by himself", a book that I donated to the State of Ohio Library, Columbus, Ohio and now resides in their "rare book" secion.

Some, but not all, photographs available to me are shown here. I hope you all enjoy this photo scrapbook of the Thomson family. You may use the links below so see and read about my history.

These "Early Years" pages are contained in the last part of Memories, Chapter 1 to the first part of Chapter 3. To return here, use Memories' menu at the bottom of all memories pages.

Fumio and I got together and I offered to host him at my home. He flew over to Greenville where I picked him up and returned to my home in Anderson.

Right Place @ Right Time
Everyone should be familiar with the phrase, "Being At The Right Place At The Right Time" . There have been many of these times throughout my life where this applied to me. Everytime except one, the outcome was positive. And they were "cascading" to the future, i.e. the future kept getting better and better.

I went from being a food service manager of cafeterias to a senior reseach engineer for a major intergrated natural gas company where I ended up building Artificial Intelligence Expert Systems programs.

My Background & Golf
I have put together a page that summarizes my life and my love of the game of golf. There is probably more information on this page that you will find in my other page.

Computer Games I Have Writen
Over my nearly three decades working with computers I have learned several computer languages. Many computer games, especially for kids, can be developed using most of the language or a combination of them. Two games standout, Concentration and Star Trek 2. Both these games can be downloaded but only to Windows computers.

Books I Have Read
The only books I read while growing up were by school books. But that all changed in my later adult life, i.e. when I was in my 60s. There was a period when I had almost unlimited free time that could not be totally filled by watching television.

I began filling this free time by checking out books from the local library. Not knowing what type of fiction I wanted I asked the local librarian to recommend some authors who wrote books with the main story involve spies, detective, or mystery.

I started with one well known author and read most of his books. So, I had to find "new authors". I ended up, over the past 30 years with 91 authors and 507 of their titles.

Recipes
I worked in the food service business for many years as a manager. I started out as the manger of the food department of a small hospital and ended up managing two industrial cafeterias.

Many times I had to fill in for one of the cooks so I learned how to make many dishes. Using this knowledge I developed my own recipes that I used at home. The three I have selected are easy to make and very tasty.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
My thanks to my brother, Jim, who kindly loaned me the many scrapbooks of my parents so I could put together this record. All these documents that I once had are now with my son, Chris, except for parts that were given to Jim's children.
